![]() My attraction to location photography reflects my tendency to be in constant motion, my preference for being outdoors whenever possible, and my enjoyment of problem solving. I love the challenge of dealing with the unexpected, an aspect with which location photography is inherently fraught. But I also appreciate the concentration still-life photography demands. The shooting of objects is a welcome balance to the often frenetic pace of location and lifestyle photography.
I have been shooting a camera since I was 15 years old when I had the privilege of having a high school teacher who opened my eyes to the potential artistry of photography. Since then I have been honing my technical skills and developing my own approach and unique vision. My work displays a spontaneous, seemingly accidental quality that I cultivate because it is expressive of the motion and energy of life. I like my photographs to appear as if they are found instances in the midst of the everyday. I feel that my best images are given to me by the powers-that-be as a reward for my attention to the moment.
